Kind of feel like I'm polishing a turd beyond this point -- this was my attempt at using my own colors...which obviously didn't work as well as borrowing colors from a photograph, but I learned a lot.
I was trying to give her a wider jaw and caricature her...give her smaller eyes and nose...shy away from realism...in the final thing the "caricatured' feel definitely got lost.
And here is a BEAUTIFUL song from Little Big Planet 2. Turns life into a fluffy video game.
